A Wrong decision not a Happy Birthday

Here's the situation. Your 10 year old child has been invited to a birthday party. You got the little invitation in the mail.

So you give a little call up, 'hello, Jack's coming to the party, what are the plans?'

...answer, "oh nothing special, just some games and snacks and cake and maybe Shelby will pick out a movie. We'll call you when it's time to pick up or we could drop him off."

"Oh not a problem, we'll pick up."

~~~You pick him up.

That night he has a nightmare. He sleeps in your room. Ummm, you think, it's been a long time since he's been _this_ scared.

so as a qualified parent, you ask a few questions of your child. The party comes up. Seems little Shelby chose a movie alright...

". Little Shelby chose Nightmare on Elms Street.!! What!! Nightmare on Elms Street!! Are you kidding me? Weren't there other 10 year olds at that party?!"

Yes. It's seems that _The DAD_ himself volunteered to stay so that they could view the movie, and that way Shelby could get her wish.

And yes, It's rated *R*,
And no, no parents were told about it ...

So if there was an award for the most irresponsible parents right now...ggrrrrr.

Meantime, it's my nephew that's been having the nightmares. He had asked that he be taken to the doctor because he says he can't make them go away. They come when he doesn't have anything to do or think about.

My sister is taking him to the doctor tomorrow, it's been 5 days and she promised him if they didn't stop she'd take it, and I back her up on this.

But these parents....what were they thinking!!

No one has called them to advise them of the situation. I think they bear some responsibility or should at least let it be let known what their (Irresponsible and careless) decision has caused. But no one wants to call them.

Meanwhile, the children suffer because parents...I guess they just gotta be so cool.
