1. My only daughter, 22, is having her tonsils out tomorrow. Those of us who have had our tonsils removed, know that this, as awful as it is, is better than being sick for long periods of time and having to ingest those anti-biotics, which stop working after awhile, and that one can have violent reactions to, which she did, as her whole body became inflamed and rashed and mouth and eyes swollen, omg, it was scary
-- so yeah, there's that --
and since I had my tonsils out back when dinosaurs ruled the earth and Billy Joel was first singing Piano Man, I have forgotten everything, but it's still called horrible surgery, so any current advice would be thought wonderful.
2. I now have a job. A real and actual job that I get paid for working at home. Working at home is not the easiest thing but it beats the other thing like driving to a place, parking, buying clothes other people find tolerable, shoes, etc and all stuff like that. So, I am appreciative to the universe and my brother in law. I asked for the job and he gave it to me. Wow. How often does that happen? Hey, there's a job - I want that one - Can I have it? I can? Thanks ... (Yay.)
3. Facebook. Ummmmm. What do you think? Would you rather just spend your life in short bursts of thoughts and clicks? Are you no longer willing to discuss things in detail until you run out of words in your brain? Ummmmm. Facebook. Good or Bad? Dunno really. Can't decide. It is easy. Short bursts. Type, type, type ... run away, come back later ...oh nobody liked my thought ... ummmmm. I dunno.
4. It's early. But, I do know that I vowed this year to be happy and appreciate every day and so Yay Me because I am so doing that. It's Day 87 and it's terrific as all. I still have my list of wants and needs that I put out to the God of the Universe, which is all the same thing and different at the same time. Yeah, go figure, but yeah, so anyway, It's All Good.
5. I finally got to see Bruce Springsteen live and on stage. How freakin' cool is that? I do not have the measuring stick for that yet, but however, it's way up there.
In 1984 Bruce came to Tallahassee, Florida and I so wanted to go. My husband said the tickets were just to expensive and we could not afford them. Tickets were $35.00 then. I pined that moment all my life. It didn't ruin my life, of course, those things can't, but it never went away. Then when Annie was going to see him in Atlanta, I thought, wow - Atlanta - not that far -- but I still didn't act on it.
Then, something struck me, not sure what but it had something to do with Annie and Nancy and talking about soul and stuff and I sorta got this ~I need To Be Brucified feeling~ and did a quick search and Boom Like That - saw that Bruce was going to be in Tampa - his one Florida stop -- and #2 son lives 25 minutes from Tampa -- and The Universe said -- Go Forth and get your Soul Suit Blessed --
I am so glad I did. That.was.just.righteous. No other like The Boss. No other like feeling like checking a dream thought off your list. So, yeah, there's that.
5. And so yeah, it's all good. And how about you? Finding your way okay on this 87th Day of the Year 2012?
Some things I know for sure:
1. History repeats itself. And it's not always pretty. (Which is making me think people are (stupid)).
2. Things get worse/better/worse/fine//better/good/horrible/okay/great/unexpected wow-what-was-that (like we invaded Normandy and Landed on the Moon)
3. People have a real problem with real change. (Makes them nervous and scared and the center of the brain freezes into dry ice and acts like oatmeal on crack. Not lovely to think about.)
4. Less and less surprises me.
5. People will be kind under most extreme circumstances. Maybe that's why God shocks us Till he rocks us.
But regardless of what I wrote here, just have a great day. If something is bothering you, shake it off. Get a kitty. Eat a Popsicle. Go ahead and get an extra shot of espresso.
Just Live.
Love ya' ~
Miss Roxie
